I was scared when I saw who posted this topic (though when I saw part of the title way back on the main forum screen, I guessed the rest anyway! ;-)

) that I'd be first. Now I've posted first, I've asked for it. Like sitting front row at a Frankie Boyle or Jimmy Carr gig, then getting up for a piss...

Hmm, I thought OL looked like Mickey Rourke, I even read quite a lot of his posts in a heavily Rourke-ish accent, like how he spoke in Spun. Since he hasn't posted a pic though, I may be spot on. ;-)

Dont hotlink images. Upload them to a hosting site, the link them. Cheers

I don't want to clutter up my photobucket account with mingin' old hags or ugly fat dudes. They're both from social networking sites so they won't care, and if they do then they'll block it.

Probably as busy as me then with all the images that will be being removed if they are continuously hotlinked. Know what i mean

Why care? I don't know any other forum that conforms to such Draconian image regulations. Everyone does it. Like I said, if they take issue with it then it just gets blocked.

Of course. We are draconian. Look theres no need to be a fart about it. Everyone else does it and doesnt have a problem with it. Its in the TOS. Give us a break.

Ok. It's in the TOS... but why? I understand the whole "don't be a bandwidth stealing wanker" ideal, but most people have infinite bandwidth packages now anyway - especially social networking sites.

To be honest i am not 100% on it either, but its what we have to do ya know? Its nothing personal bud, just something we have to enforce. Its a grey area, and maybe the odd one here and there would be overlooked. But this whole topic will be picture based, and with the amount of pics that would get posted in it, its far too much to let it slide. Same as the gifs topic, and any other topic which is dedicated to content off the site.

I know it's not personal, I just find it ridiculous that we have to conform to a petty measure when these boards don't get much traffic anyway. I'm on some other boards that are so busy that if you post in a thread it's likely the topic will be on page 2 in a matter of minutes due to the activity, and they don't give a toss about bandwidth.

yama said it was fine as long as the website isn't too small, if it looks like it can handle it then hotlinking is ok he even does it himself
