I think it's funny how society as a whole thinks our world has become more violent. The only reason it 'seems' more violent is because the media turns isolated incidents into the illusion of them all relating to eachother. We have always had violence in the world, now it's just more publicized thanks to the mass media.

I dont think its the media's fault for reporting death and violence, I think its important to know about. Rather then celebrity bs and the like. True violent crime is on a decline overall statistically, but that doesnt mean its deserving to not report about as much.

Its not so much the reporting of it but the fact that it gets blown a bit out of proportion. do we still need to hear reports on Sandy hook and interviews with a cousin of a doctor of a nephew that lived in a nearby town?

Bad things happen, and generally we need to know if theres a rapist in out neighborhood or perhaps that somethicng could have happened to loved ones abroad, but I don't think theres any doubt that the media would air "Family killed in satanic blood orgy" over "10 year old girl genius finds cure for cancer"

Actually, I take issue with that one. It's not news, for one thing. I see something like that on the news and I think to myself "why the fuck are they reporting this?"
And secondly, the customers who moved tables had every right to do so. They didn't go over to the kid's table and start mocking, or start asking the wait staff to tell him to leave. They saw a "special" kid and figured he'd be making a ruckus (not an unreasonable assumption to make), then while they were having their own conversation, the waiter overheard their opinions and unprofessionally decided he wouldn't serve them anymore.
Then he shows up on the news for "defending" the kid.

Apple loves to make things as proprietary and hard to fix as humanly possible. They want you to pay a fortune to have one of their guys fix it.
