As for best year. Hm, I don't know really. I did like the era when LanDC and some others were still finding some more hidden things on the discs. When we had discussions about how Shenmue III could turn out storywise. People finding some more things about the mythology, martial arts etc.
And in some ironic way the period after Shenmue Online got announced. It caused some extra commotion but we did hear something from him and could only hope/doubt that it would lead to Shenmue III.
