Heya Henry. I'm so very sorry to hear about the friend. Some may disagree, but I think if your friend worked up the will to take their life, then the emotional turmoil they must have been dealing with must have been absolutely terrible and you should take some small shred of consolation in the fact that they are likely in a better place now. What is important to do now is to not blame yourself. Your friend would not want you slipping down into your own downward spiral. Be strong. Sometimes the people closest to us are taken from us long before their time.

I avoid posting in these kind of topics as I don't usually say the right thing at times like this but your one of my favorite posters, I really hope you feel better soon and come back.

When you've been on the receiving end of suicide it's a hard thing to put into words how you're trying to cope with the situation straight after it happens. I've had it happen and I was 13 years old at the time, my dad offed himself in prison and it was absolutely awful. However, I know when people tell you that "time is a good healer" you think it's utter horseshit, but things will become easier. Losing a close person, friend or family, is roughneck and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. A best friend might as well be family when it all boils down to it, so I know how it feels dude and I sincerely hope you pull through sooner rather later for youself and for us. :-&

Dude, I was 13, I'm now 30. It was a loooooooong time ago (and probably explains a lot!) so I'm not fazed by it. I've got a mate who's sister hung herself while we were at a festival last year and I made sure I chatted to him and just let him knew that I was someone who can understand. It's tough to deal with, sure, but after a while you learn to accept it and you know how to talk to others who are experiencing it. A lot of people feel guilt - what if I was there? Why didn't I pick up on it? Was it my fault? The simple fact is if someone is suicidal then they are doing it because they can't see a way out through clinical depression. No matter how much pandering you do, it won't bring them out of it.

I don't know what to say. I've got nothing to say. I really hope you find peace and happiness, QWERTY.
