We only had electricity for about 100 years and many places in the world still don't have it and they get along fine. A modern convenience might be like a drug and have de tox not having it but you get over it and adapt.

Every resource is renewable (some just take a hell of a lot longer than others), it's impossible to "run out" of electricity as it exists with or without us, animals do rape and kill each other, and every living thing on this planet is technically a parasite, so at the end of the day, consuming the planet is actually our purpose in life.

We're meant to consume, but we're consuming waay more than the planet can handle. If we look at america, it's 5 percent of the worlds population, but is consuming 20 % of its resources.

Yeah, we are consuming at a rate that is far greater than what can ever hoped to be considered sustainable. Maybe every resource is sustainable, but definitely not at the rate that we are going. Mankind really needs to learn to consume less, especially power. It's not going to happen though, because we have all become so utterly pathetically accustomed to living this lifestyle and won't change, not until the shit really hits the fan. All this talk about it all being a "hoax" and that we can continue consuming at this rate with no consequence, that's what you call denial.

When the time comes (and no doubt meetings between very powerful and wealthy men have taken place), humankind will move onto the next thing, energy wise. It will keep on doing so for thousands more years, too. As long as no plagues or wars or whatever wipe us all out. Now that the rapidly developing countries like China and India with their billion+ populations and lots of them can now have their own cars, flights, fully powered homes with the conveniences, etc. (basically, they'll soon be using as much as we're all used to) though, it does seem a bit sometimes
