I know that but they always call anyone from England British while someone from Scotland will be called Scottish and never British. Most Americans I've spoke to about this seem quite confused that Britain is actually 4 countries and not just another name for England.

Is Britain a country? Is England a country? We need to make up our collective minds and stick to it.

Great Britain is an island. The United Kingdom is Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Great Britain comprises of England, Scotland and Wales. It's pretty easy.
