Trying to advance "science" by using glass instead of asphalt, seems like a great idea.

It takes 2 to tango, and an idiot to be scammed, I don't think most people are that stupid, if they wanted to actually invest in technology they wouldn't go with a bunch of viral videos, and actually invest in stuff that works / reputable universities.

You don't even need to have 2 fingers in front to see it's just a stupid idea. $500.000 to put some shitty leds and a solar panel, someone has to try a lot harder to tell me someone is not getting a piece of the pie.

Part of the reluctance to pursue clean energy is that the more we advance it, the more likely our nations enemies can get their hands on it, or worse fossil fuels. That's why - according to the theory, at least - it needs to be completely depleted first. Though the wiser idea would to just keep it under lock n key. Or just stash it on the moon.
