they eventually will cease to be "outrageous" and simply become the new norm the media doesn't bombard us with constantly. The same way we've become desensitized to city homicides/car accident deaths/heart disease deaths that are far more numerous and are never given two shits by the news.
People may become desensitized, but the news won't ever cease bombarding us; they have 24 hour news channels and are always looking for something disastrous to report.That's why most people who watch these news channels think the world is coming to an end and worry about leaving the house or letting their kids out to play.
