Using ableton live, and WOW how much I miss the way reaper handles tracks.

It most be one of the most useful things in the invention of modern daws (I think Studio One has something similar).

I don't have a controller right now.

But it's a pain for a lot of things, for example tracks in reaper can be ANYTHING (mono/stereo/MIDI/bus/folders), in ableton you can't use more than one vsti per track (or you can't use a vsti in an audio track). For example I'm using a guitar to midi vst (that it's recognized as a vsti), so I have to have one track for the guitar imput and route the audio to a new track with the vst, and then route the midi it creates to another one to use the vst instrument. In Reaper you do it all in one track.

Luckily I have some max for live patches (pretty much the reason I started using ableton) to do all the routing iside it, but still, I miss quite a lot of things about Reaper.

You know you don't need a MIDI controller for Ableton, right? You can use your laptop or computer's keyboard (though it's only for direct commands)

Are you talking about learn ?

My problem it's not with that, it's the workflow.

Really, routing and tracks in reaper are a godsend, You can even have midi clips and audio in the same track.

You can in Ableton too. Or you used to, at least. Haven't used it in a few years.

As far as I know you can't.

You have separated midi tracks, audio tracks and buses, like in PT. And no matter how much I try, I can't put 2 vsti on the same track. I know it's not what most people do, but it's stupid not to give the option to do it.

EDIT: Yeah, you can put various vsti in one track with the instrument rack. A little more complicated than in reaper, but works for me.

EDIT2: nope, not vsti, just works with the ableton instruments. I'm getting angry now.

EDIT3: Nope, it works, I'm just an idiot.

Just found out tonight (after going all of the way there) that my favourite restaurant closed down. FFS. This year just gets better and better.

Has anyone here eaten at a Five Guys? One's opened in the city nearest to here, not far from a Burger King? How does it rate compared to the most expensive OTT stuff from the top of BK's list? (which is what I always go for, albeit rarely do so these days)

Five Guys is pretty awesome. I get the double bacon cheeseburger with the Cajun fries. Its a little pricey for a burger and fries but its damn good, and always made with fresh ingredients. They cut the potatoes their self, no frozen french fries lol.

I find the price to be comparable to the $9 you'd probably pay for a "value meal" and McD and the like. Just bring your own drink and be sure to order a small fry. Their small fry is as big as a X-Large fry at any fast food place! It really is enough for two people. Pound for pound, I weigh it as a greater value than fast food on account of the weight of the beef that goes in their burger alone. BK and McD use so little meat these days even the bun far outreaches the paper thin patty.

today i went into a few stores in my town and a few times (once again) i passed this proper bitch of a woman i use to go to school with.

every time i see her, she keeps fucking smirking at me.. and its really making me fucking angry.

do you guys think i should confront her and fucking yell at her? because im really tempted to. not interested about "reminiscing" old school days. just want to yell at her...let her know, i know who she is.. and tell her to give it a fucking break.
