End of March/Entirety of April is absolutely insane in terms of movie/TV/games/music releases for me. It's like I've gone to heaven. Bloodborne, FF Type 0, New Resident Evil game, John Wick (yup, it's only just NOW come to our shores for cinema release), The Gunman, Daredevil, Game of Thrones Season 5, BERSERK MANGA RESUMING APRIL!!! (just seen that now too), seeing Solarstone (Pure Trance) in Manchester - damn good time for me to be alive now. :D

The alphabet technically follows the "I before E except after C" rule.

Does it make an asshole to think that charities have become WAY too invasive nowadays? It's near impossible to simply go about YOUR OWN business undisturbed these days. In one of the local supermarkets, which only has the one entry/exit hall (which is quite normal here), they literally stand on BOTH sides of the exit side, so you can't simply walk on the other side of someone else to use them as a "shield". Honestly they are stood in Police-checkpoint formation, almost kind of intimidating. I thought the United Kingdom had "aggressive begging" laws that were meant to curb this kind of thing?

For the record I did give them some money, but I still think it errs on the "unacceptable" side of things to stand there covering the exit like that. The shopping centre is the same, they stand about in a totally invasive way making just walking past them more of an issue than it should be. Charity has always been a thing, but the overly Capitalist way that the world is now where people and companies are completely bare-faced and don't even try to hide the fact that they are out to hawk every last penny from you via whichever means possible, even if it borders on illegal (or actually WAS illegal, in the case of the banks being forced to give people money back for loans the people had borrowed with unauthorised added costs on) means that charities, whose raison d'être has always been to ask for money anyway, have had to step it up a few notches...

FWIW I was against the ice bucket challenge as well and made myself quite unpopular on FB and my workplace for my lack of enthusiasm. To me, it is simply a case of "charity begins at home", and I deserve to be allowed to deal with my own needs before anyone else's...

It's got too the point where if someone with a clipboard or a flyer get's in my way I tell them to fuck off. I'm all for charity but I don't like being bothered when I clearly don't want to be. I'm also not willing to give my money to someone just saying. "Help beat cancer." Sure I want to beat cancer but I have no idea where my money will be going to stop it, it could just go straight to some CEO. I always do research on charities before donating as so many are just business at this point and think more about making money then helping the actual cause.

I did Movemeber as I like Prostate Cancer UK and will always donate to charities like the poppy appeal and Help for Heroes but then people tried too make me feel bad for not doing the ice bucket challenge. People soon shut up though when you asked if they had actually donated themselves or where just being attention whores with their shitty 60 second video. In the end whenever someone nagged at me too do it I said I would if they let me film them licking a mouse trap to raise money for guide dogs.

Honestly, at this point I expect Miura to release a chapter in April, and then at the end of the chapter he'll promptly place his signature "see you next time" ... next time being god knows how long. I expect to be 50 by the time Berserk ends... but God do I love it.

Same this happened to be for these two people (one of them even went as far saying "if you don't do this, it'll cost us our jobs" , WTF this is charity you selfish bitch) but I went ahead and checked them out anyway.

The charity (which is an animal one) was actually pretty reputable and I ended up signing up (but on my own terms, not theirs) and been part of it ever since.

^That's the best way to do it. Just decide whichever charity you want to give to, don't let others make their minds up for you. I give to a couple I pretty much researched and feel aren't as well off as some of these conglomerate charities that spend so much money marketing themselves and effectively blowing all of their cash on expensive campaigns.

Yup. They are still not on the island, but who cares when the art is so damned good. I can also appreciate that the guy hasn't gone a step wrong in the writing department either, which is incredibly impressive for a guy who has worked on this one super long storyline for the past 30 years, even if it has been on an off over the past couple of years, schedule wise whenever he releases an Episode. I'm just glad I've not been a fan for as long as some people.

Why do people not realise the inherent irony in trotting out the tired old "swearing only shows a lack of imagination and vocabulary" line?

Like if I swear at least it's in a sentence I created myself. You just lifted that cliche in a direct copy-paste-speak way, which requires NO imagination at all!

^Nice one. Best of luck. I've currently just come to the end of my contract/end of the project and looking for work myself. It's kinda shitty at the moment since a lot of companies seem to be waiting on the new financial year before posting their jobs/contracts. At least it's giving me time to develop myself in other ways though (socialising, training myself, pursuing other creative drives, doing things for family etc) so it ain't all bad.

I used to be really negative about these situations but now realise that things have a way of sorting things out, sometimes in odd ways, but still.
