I think there's at least a slight difference between people who enjoy (the majority of us aren't obsessive about it at all) a not-particularly-popular adventure game, and a group of grown men who dote on a cartoon intended for pre-10 little girls so much to the extent that they gladly embrace an all-encompassing name for themselves - one which intentionally rhymes with "ponies," mind you - and set up conventions to celebrate their shared obsession.
Possibly, maybe, probably... there's some kind of tiny difference between the two.

Posted: Fri Oct 04, 2013 4:04 pmI was forced to watch one episode of the show cause I think my roommate is a closet brony and I couldn't get into it. Funny thing is before this Pony thing exploded, there used to be a similar revamped show about the Care Bears. And my friends used to LOVE watching that shit every morning and they're my age.
When the Pony thing caught wind, I thought it was a similar thing at first. Grown ups watching something based off an old classic when they were kids. But no...it turned into something else entirely!
I will say though I do like the Derpy Hooves character:
If the whole show was about ponys with down syndrome doing stupid shit like Happy Tree Friends, then i'd be on board.
