Shame. Such a brilliant actor too. Where will Batman get all his gadgets from now?

Can we change the topic title to Nelsen Manndello, just so we can identify the people who submit replies before reading the thread?

Not often I'm happy that someone has died but the guy was responsible for a lot of innocent people dying because of his terrorist activities.

Funny how people forget that he was a terrorist and listed as such in the states only a few years ago. Look at South Africa now; white farmers getting slaughtered, virgin and baby rape to cure AIDS, selling of body parts... but, hey, at least blacks and whites don't have separate beaches anymore! =D>

Sure he was not Gandhi and the ANC did initiate organised attacks unlike the Black Consciousness Movement (led by Steve Beko, a man whose life contributed as much to the end of Apartheid as Mandela's did in my opinion), but that's what happens when you push people to their limits, you will get a violent reaction, and as much as I am a pacifist, I have to admit that it is the violence that more times than not precipitates change. I think it's way to easy for you to act morally superior and all judgemental when you have never experienced the kind of systematised racism that South Africans did, Riku.

And can we just ban qwerty for being a shit troll please.

Absolutely. But we also shouldn't forget misdeeds, no matter if they led to better change or not. The world isn't black or white, but grey.
It's kind of like how people love to think of Lincoln as one of the greatest American presidents in history, solely for that fact that he "freed the slaves." They love to forget that he fucked the economy so far into hell with his obsessive war efforts that we still haven't recovered from it.
In almost all cases in history there's good and bad, and neither part should be ignored. Unfortunately people love for things to be simple, so history will likely only remember Mandela as a saint.

I think of Biko and I think of a man who was able to stand up and show that black people where equal to white people and weren't lesser beings. He stood up for what he believed in and did it in a dignified way that should be more applauded then it currently is. He spoke and acted in a dignified way that worried the government without causing harm to those not involved.

I think of Mandela and I think of a man that wasn't happy with how his people where treated so he helped in blowing up innocent people including women and children. He wasn't trying to show the government that black people should be appreciated and have the same rights but that they should be fear him. He was terrorizing people.

I wouldn't wish this on you but can you imagine if a member of your family was involved in one of the bombs he had a hand in. I'm sure you wouldn't have the light hearted view you have on it now if it personally effected you in the way it did to some people. Some people lost someone very important to them and they may not have been the slightest bit racist or for the apartheid in any way.

To me Mandela is a terrorist who killed innocent men, women and children who should have died in prison.
