^I hated that line Pratt said too. It's so goddamn cheesy. Funny thing is if Jeff Goldblum would've said it, it would've been fine. It seems like something he would say anyway.

About the Human Dino hybrids, I remember the concept art but yeah...glad they didn't go that route. I agree it's something that could happen in other movies but not JP.

I also thought that line was pretty bad. Maybe it's something his character would say but we expect his personality to be a certain way. Either way I think the line itself probably wasn't the best to put in the trailer.

On February 5, 2014, Trevorrow revealed that cinematographer John Schwartzman would be filming Jurassic World using Panavision cameras shooting on a combination of Kodak 35mm and 65mm film

HOLY FUCK THERE NOT MESSING ABOUT

If they are shooting it on REAL cameras they must want too do a good job and not spew out another multimillion pound blockbuster.

It's not that unusual. 65mm is pretty crazy, but a few of the major blockusters are still shot on film. Both of the new Star Treks are shot on 35mm and so will the new Star Wars (all directed by JJ Abrams). Nolan, Spielberg, and Tarantino are also a few of the directors that only shoot on film.

The new hobbit planet of the apes broke my heart D:
The only company that can make OK digital cameras is arri.
These "red" cameras are noisy as fuck!
colours are terrible and digital as a format is only as good as the decade its in.
This seems to be the answer to the question many figured out ages ago.
Who's innit for the film and who's innit for the money.

The colors of hobbit looked really off in theaters. I saw the first in hfr and it was cool 3d-wise but took some getting used to. But they colorized them a lot or something. I heard they actually shot them at 6k resolution.

I guess I really don't pay attention to how most movies are shot though. Because I can't tell the difference when I'm watching them.

Arri cameras are better, I agree. RED is cheaper by comparison but I do not like its natural "dark contrast" look. Also it's so detailed, I feel like I'm looking at a reel off Vimeo than a real movie. Arri Alexas in particular look great and like real film, shame it takes like 3 people to control one.

But nothing beats real film. The texture makes it look 'better', better in the sense where it feels like something you can only witness in a theater or home video. Digital is so accessible and slick, it doesn't have that same feeling. With the Hobbit, I also hated how cartoony and fake it looked. I saw the first one in 48FPS and it looked like they were on stages instead of real environments. Kinda sad, really.

I like the ideas of trained dinosaurs and a "prototype" that's killing for fun... but goddamn, it hits me every time with these movies how the cg in the original looks so amazingly realistic (even by today's standards), while everything in later movies is so obviously fake.
I dunno, just something that always, always bothers me with these.
Still looks fun either way.

The whole raptor training thing seemed a bit retarded at first but this new trailer gives it better context. Still, when it comes to dinosaurs I just assume they all are instinctual unless they indicate they are domestically bred generations in, like wild animals being domesticated. It might be the case here.

And yeah, CG will continue to look fake as shit cause they don't use real world examples as their guidelines as much anymore. Fun Fact: the guy at 0:52 is the same actor playing the same character from the first Jurassic Park.

I remember how good the original films CG was, but I have not watched that movie in a long time. I wonder if the CG looks dated on the HD blurays? I guess we dont have 1993 technology thats old enough to bring back the magic from the original CG

And I noticed that too Kenny, the asian engineer from the first film has returned.

So they are making this film as if the events of the last 2 films never happened, interesting and probably necessary all things considered. If only Jeff Goldblum was in it instead of doing those lame ass apartments.com commercials
