I think it's pretty awesome. The genre evolved nicely and still comes up with cool new ideas.

Here's what Aquaman's costume will most likely look like in the upcoming Batman v Superman and Justice League movies (it's a leaked photo of a Batman v Superman action figure):

And here's the most recent promotional image for Wonder Woman, in case you've missed it:

And in addition to these, the latest rumour about the upcoming Batman solo movie:

Rumor: Will Smith's Deadshot May Join Forces with Batman in Solo Film

The Dark Knight might not be on his own in his new film.

By Matt Porter
Will Smith has signed on for multiple appearances as Deadshot, and there are rumors that one of them might be with Ben Affleck in the proposed solo film The Batman.

According to Latino Review and its sources, "Will Smith may join Ben Affleck in his solo Batman movie, which might not end up being so solo."

"Nothing's locked down completely, but most of the involved parties seem enthusiastic," says LR.

In the comic book universe, Batman and Deadshot teamed up earlier this year in the Arkham Knight comics.

Ben Affleck might be directing The Batman himself, as well as starring in it. In addition, it's rumored that the film might be based on "A Death in the Family" and "Under the Hood."

Pretty naff trailer, tbh. I miss Apoc's robotic voice from the cartoons. "I am the rocks of the ternal shore, crash against me and be broken" "There is not freedom from me, only freedom through me." I hope Sinister makes a cameo at least, guessing he might be the next big bad after this film is done (heading into the 90s, rad).

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles 2 trailer released today and seemed pretty awesome. Characters that appear in the trailer spoiler:
Baxter Stockman, Bebop & Rocksteady and Casey Jones all make an appearance in the trailer and there's even hints of some sort of "alien invasion" too...Krang?

Right, Turtles is a comic adaption as well. Didn't think of that somehow. The trailer doesn't look too bad, might turn out to be a fun sequel. I'll add it and other non DC or Marvel stuff (like Ghost in the Shell or Tintin) to the list.

I know it's not a comic adaption, but the new (and first) Star Trek Beyond teaser/trailer is just so damn in your face that I have to share it here. :-o The Fast & Furios guy is directing this time, kinda shows in the trailer I guess. I like it.

Im on the fence about all these comic book movies. Kinda feels like they are just exploiting the genre at this point, but at the same time im sure there are fans that are really happy their favorite niche comic book series is getting its own movie. Then there is all the cross over stuff and interlacing story lines, that just makes all this even more profitable. I guess I'll just watch the ones I like, or I may even just give up until something mind blowing comes along because its so saturated at this point.

Why do anything else?
I still haven't bothered to see the Thor movies, and I honestly don't feel I'm missing anything. Thor is lame. No reason to watch it if I don't dig it. If it gets to the point where you feel like you have to watch something you have no interest in just to keep up, I'd say that's the right check-out time.

Personally, I just feel like it's Marvel in particular that's saturating the market too much by this point. I'm totally fine with Fox's projects, like the X-Men series and Deadpool, because at least those are aiming for different tones and all that. Marvel just does the same formulaic stuff over and over, same tone and quippy attitude and all, and it's just kind of tiring now. If I see one more climactic fight in a goddamn airship, I'm gonna scream.
And trying to include Dr. Strange at this point is just silly; nothing in their previous efforts has ever hinted at the existence of magic in their universe, so now it's just being shoehorned in for the hell of it.
Cumberbatch's goatee is pretty weak anyway.

I don't think the market's all that saturated, I mean... there hasn't been that many marvel cinematic films. It's twelve movies over eight years. that's like 3 hours of movie watching a year, on average, if you even bother to watch them all (that was rough math but it's close enough). Hardly enough for me to even notice -- but I wasn't really following them all that much until recently. So basically what I mean is, they're easy to ignore.

They are a little more light-hearted than other super-hero movies, but to me that's a plus. With the exception of Batman and Batman Returns, I usually can't stand serious super hero movies. Super heroes are just a silly-ass concept in general and I prefer them to be a little more comic-like personally.

Anyway, it's nice for the fans who like them, in which case, keep 'em coming. They're a hell of a lot smarter and more interesting than movies like Transformers, and they're good fun entertainment -- and in an era with shitty blockbuster after shitty blockbuster, I'll take what I can get. Looking forward to some of the ones listed above.

Easy to ignore? Hah, I wish. It'd be nice if I could put my head in the sand too but every forum I visit literally posts x100 gifs of Captain America "I understood that reference" and banners/posters/trailers everywhere when a new one is out. Sorry but the Marvel fanboys plaster that shit everywhere (and the news sites I frequent also) and it's impossible to ignore it.

Got to agree with Orange on this, Fox and DC/Warner Bros. don't overdo it to the extent with the marketing that Disney/Marvel do with theirs. People are practically programmed to like those movies anyway, I tend to find people just like whatever is new out nowadays anyway, just as long as there's fucktons of marketing behind it. I've literally been put off by the Marvel movies just on the fact that they try to ram it down my throat so much. It honestly puts me off in the end up, same goes for Star Wars.

^ Warner aren't overdoing it yet.. they might actually start doing that in the weeks and months to come. I mean their shared superhero movie universe hasn't really taken off yet. So far there are two DC movies planned for each year from 2016 to 2020, but more might get added to that schedule. Rumours include new Batman and possibly Superman movies, a Booster Gold & Blue Beetle team up flick and Guillermo Del Toro's Dark Universe/Justice League Dark project. The more money they get out of it all the more they'll put into it. Really looking forward to their stuff, looks like a nice dark contrast to Marvel's more family friendly and comedic approach.

Well, true. They could have introduced magic when they made the first Thor movie, but chose to do that "it's only technology you humans can't comprehend" thing. I guess they had to play it safe somewhat and didn't wanna risk alienating their audience by mixing fantasy elements into their scifi-based superhero universe. It's cool that it has evolved enough to include stuff like Ant-Man, Guardians and Doc Strange now, but it really feels kinda late for the magic. Same problem would occur if they reintroduced Blade (to which they got the rights back a while ago) without ever having mentioned vampires.

I just don't understand having to cross everything over (shared universe), aside from just for money grubbing reasons and keeping the fanboys happy. Standalone stuff can be good and profitable too. That's just me against the rest of the planet thinking that though, I guess.

^^I don't mind the crossing over so much, as long as it doesn't literally get in the way of understanding each movie. Like if I can't understand the plot of Iron Man 4 because I haven't seen Thor 3, then there's a problem. Honestly, I always hated that in the comics too; I can remember plenty of instances of crossover storylines turning into a pain in the ass, because I'd be reading a Spider-Man series straight through, then the end of an issue says "check out Iron Man number so-and-so to see what happens!"
Eff that shit.
But stuff like, for example, Colossus being in Deadpool... that just makes sense. No big deal. It's only a small crossover, but obviously I'm not going to be barred from understanding Deadpool if I hadn't seen Days of Future Past. They're technically in the same universe and all, but they seem to be keeping to their own respective series. I like the idea of characters existing in the same world, but they should still be able to function independently.
