I'm not really surprised to be honest, REmake is considered by most Resi fans to be the greatest game in the series, and Resident Evil has a huge following and fanbase. It also beat Silent Hill 2 in the first round, and Silent Hill 2 is the greatest survival horror game ever made in my opinion. So yeah, it's going to be a tough round for sure. Still, it would be nice if we did get Shenmue through to the quarter finals (where a likely defeat against OoT would be no shame).

LGS, are you encouraging the tweetathon base to vote in this?

I've been tweeting the links and sharing them on Facebook. Being a little outside Team Yu's remit means the only place I haven't promoted it is the Team Yu Facebook page itself.

I don't like Shadow of the Colossus. I played it a couple of months ago and had very high expecatitons. But all i found was a very boring game wih repetative (not to call it limited) gameplay mechanics. The emtpy wolrd was not a design-masterpice. It was only the result of the limited power the ps2 could offer.

Maybe the Giants looked impressive back the days. Today they look awkward and paired with the low framerate eye-cancer is guaranteed ...

Shenmue is losing to Resident Evil remake.

Edit: Shenmue is winning, actually.

Yeah, Shenmue is kicking the evil resident's ass :king:
But Shenmue still needs every vote, most people will vote during the evening German time, which will be in round about 19 hours from now and among those there will be many RE fans.
So everybody vote!!!

It's looking good so far. Shenmue has a comfortable lead at 63% but the poll is still lasting 13 hours, so it's no sure thing yet.

The poll's over, Shenmue has won this round and moves on to face Ocarina of Time... That tough match ought to begin when the clock strikes midnight in Germany this Friday night.

We'll have to mobilize every bit of force we can to get Shenmue through against OoT.

But even if Shenmue loses it still achieved quite a respectful place in the poll. Being one of the top 8 games is really something. I'd say Shenmue is also the only surprise among them. The other games are the usual standard finalists that turn up in every one of these polls.

It looks like I was wrong about the Zelda battle beginning Friday night - they seem to be taking a break between polls at the moment. They're maybe preparing an article on the final eight or something.

This is a superb opportunity for some great exposure for Shenmue. But as Spindash says, we'll need every bit of force from hereon. If anyone's on the Team Yu facebook, that'd be a great idea.... as well as perhaps emailing SEGA fansites (segabits and seganerds are two I know of) as I'm sure they get a lot of hits.

We can vote multiple times, can't we? :)

You can't just vote multiple times by simply hammering on the vote button.
Idk why the poll sometimes reqiures you to vote again to view the results but it definatley doesn't go up again.
