That's exactly it.

Just as with Shenmue 3 before it, every time a website reports that Shenmue HD is happening (as I've already seen since yesterday), there will be fans thinking, "Good, I can stop campaigning now that that's sorted." And we still need those fans to stay vocal.

Sega appears to be at a stage where they kinda want to do it but have their excuses lined up and ready if it gets too difficult. We need to stay on their case so they don't quietly lose their nerve and forget about it.

I guess I'll stop being a dick and say this is the most concrete statement we had about a port (since that guy saying it was happening).

I actually believe they're actually working on it, I've even got that knot on my stomach thinking how people would recieve it.

Licensing issues almost solved! Need to address the Tomex thing now!

Probably the best words ever to come from Sega regarding Shenmue HD. I have hope that it really means something / does get somewhere eventually. I'm keeping a sceptical stance toward it however.

In order to make Shenmue 4 & 5 real, it's essential that Shenmue 3 sells well and for that, we have to #SaveShenmueHD!

Sega is well aware of Shenmue III and of course, both Shenmue HD remaster's potential. I had the chance to talk to some Sega Japan's staff during Tokyo Game Show 2015 and most of them really liked Shenmue and Yu Suzuki's work.

Lots of stuff going on in the background scene so let's keep our hopes up.

It's apparent to me that SEGA is ran by incompetent idiots. That couldn't cash in on something even if someone handed them the winning lottery ticket.

I expect this "investigation" to go as smoothly as Jet Set Radio Future or Skies of Arcadia.

It's nice to get an acknowledgment, but this is hardly good news, in my opinion.

They had years to sort out these licensing issues, and have not. And there's not a lot of time left.

While I agree it's simply an acknowledgement so far it is better than nothing, which is what we've had since for... ever.

Although it would be nice for Shenmue 1 & 2 to come out before Shenmue 3, I would not mind if it comes out after Shenmue 3... and before Shenmue 4.

So Sega basically confirmed Shenmue 1 and 2 HD is not in production.

So they'd like to do it? Great.

They would have liked to do Shenmue 3 also...but they never did, did they?

We ave to be clear here: Sega IS NOT making Shenmue 1 and 2 HD and they do not have anything to do with Shenmue 3 except allowing Yu Suzuki to use the license and agreeing to take a cut of the games profit.

I seriously hope that Sega goes bankrupt and sells off it's IPs.

Shenmue is basically a hostage at this point.

Yu Suzuki getting to use the Shenmue license is like a conjugal visit but let's not get stockholm here; Sega is the enemy.
