So it looks like the main chance for a Shenmue HD remake nowadays rests on Sony. That's a good thing because it might happen (and because it's not Sega :-)), but I fear that would mean Playstation exclusivity (no PC version), which wouldn't be as nice for preservation purposes.

But of course I would accept that, Sony would be entitled to it if they are really the ones funding the project...

its almost release date 2017. they havent announced shenmue hd nor even teased it. there is absolutely no PR involving in it. i can 1000 procent feel its not gonna happen. and when it doesnt happen it will affect shen 3 as well.

they literally threw it away. they will only make an HD when s3 is succesfull. but then its to late cause it had to be there when the hype was there.

I said on the first page that I'm a nice 5 on this ever happening. It depends on several factors. Hopefully it will pressure Yu to not use any licensed things in III. Yu loves licensing but that has made access to many of the games he was involved in (as director or producer) almost impossible to access past release. Namely titles like Outrun 2 HD and Afterburner Climax. Fuck licensing in games.

They were working on it/it was in the pipeline but was dropped due to DC hd ports bombing.
