Sega Saturn in Shenmue - odd?

Doesn't anyone find it odd that there is a Sega Saturn in Ryo's house, technology wise? I mean, the game starts in 1986, and unless Ryo had a time machine, the Saturn should not exist at the time. Shouldn't it have been the Master System instead?

There are many odd things such as fuku's Virtua fighter posters, the shenhua music tape, hang on, etc etc

Maybe they put it in there to hint at the fact that Shenmue was originally designed for the Saturn?

They probably didn't put it on the Saturn because the graphics were not so good and the game speed was some what 'slow'!!

anachronism - i think it means putting things in the wrong era to make a scene funny, etc. Like "Jesus glanced at his watch...", for instance.

About Yu Suzuki modernizing the 80's, of all the things he didn't modernize, why didn't he modernize the phones!!! make them the button dial type! it's a pain to keep calling Nozomi using the old type. :P
