Ahh okay, I wasn't to know, I only did a google search and it bought up that site all in Japanese language setting. So that's why I assumed it was a Japanese website. It's Malaysian...so hoping that it's still the original Japanese release. Not even sure that they bootlegged the movie?

Can someone let me know what this disc is and where does it come from, please?

I bought a used limited edition Shenmue 1 (US) some time back. Recently I saw pictures of other copies of the game and even an unboxing video and they all didn't have this disc in but instead an empty space. I assume the seller put it inside the case and it is not originally part of it.

That's a media disc from the 2000 E3 convention.

I'm not sure what's on it exactly(I've heard screen saver and pictures).

wow, so it is a precious extra I got without realising. Thanks for the info, I need to get back to the seller and thank him as well.

The notepad wasn't with it though, looks nice. Sega really did cool promotional items pre-release like this mini CD and What's Shenmue. How I wish it was a commercial success like it deserves.

SEGA did a TON of promotional items for this game, I feel. I don't follow gaming news that much, but there are a ton of Shenmue items through the years to collect.

Here we have Shenmue IIx and Shenmue IIx Prima strategy guide, Shenmue Limited Edition NTSC, Shenmue NTSC-J, and Shenmue NTSC regular copy, Shenmue II DC PAL, and a factory sealed never been opened Shenmue IIx



The coveted and extremely rare Shenmue cardboard promotional in store stand up display. She aint perfect, but there are only a hand full of them still in circulation.



So, what do you guys think? How much do you think this collection is worth now? And how much do you think it will be worth once Shenmue 3 comes out?

Obviously the prize of my collection is the promo display, like there might be less than 10 left on the planet, and I have no idea what its value actually is, its a little beat up on the top and on the bottom and minor things on the picture, but still I dont think there is any where else you can get a spread of this size any where. I bought the thing in like 2001 or 2002 for $10 at a local ma n pa trade in place in my area, what a steal!

Everyones collections I feel have atleast doubled if not tripled in value. After Shenmue 3 comes out I think the value will always stay high.

I wish I had bought more Shenmue merch looking back on it. Like why did I never buy figures and some other items? I think I honestly thought they werent available or were too rare/expensive since the game was so mixed in peoples opinions and the series stopped for years and I cant remember really finding much shenmue merchandise. I should at least have an art book or something!

edit - so after snooping around on ebay for a little while looking up art books and strategy guides for shenmue, I realized my Shenmue II guide is rare as fuck and worth over $100

and wow are there alot of different guides for the games in japan, jesus.

Unfortunately, the only thing in my collection is this very unofficial (and slightly broken, but it did last almost 3 years - longer than the phone did), phone case.



I used to have the DC games too, in pretty good condition, but along with the other games as well as the cables and controller and VMU for my DC, no idea where they disappeared to between various home/country moves.

Yah that's a nice standee AG. I think I paid about 220 for mine a year or two ago and I'm sure it'll fetch more now.
