Shenmue I re-release?

I apologise if there is already a thread about this, however, I failed to find one.

Seeing as Shenmue II was released on the Xbox and Shenmue III is planned to, do you feel the original Shenmue should be re-released alongside its following brother?

I no longer have a Dreamcast and I have no plans to buy a new one, yet I really do miss some of the characters such as Mark and good ole' Tom etc.

So would you be ecstatically happy if they released it for the Xbox. (By the way, I have no intention to use ROMS).

My thoughts exactly. it appears the design team are vunerable to polls and high demands from fans, perhaps we could create an official survey to be sent off to the team and request it to be re-released.

I don't know why you think this, there's been no evidence of any fan support swaying AM2. Suzuki claimed it would make a difference way back when, but even a Shenmue III release would require far more support than it is currently getting.

The petition was awesome and it showed how much we love the series but it hasn't changed anything yet. Any news we've heard since Ammar (my hero, BTW) started the petition has strictly been heresay and conjecture, if not outright lies.

I would be ecstatically happy if they released it for the xbox, but they never will. Maybe in the ideal world, where Sega acutually made money on Shenmue, something like this would happen.

I understand how you feel. I know many of us suffer from that, and I know why I sold my Dreamcast. I bought it mainly for Shenmue, so I find a pre-owned copy from Computer Exchange, and then I find it gets to the main menu fine and all of a sudden, I press new game and it cuts out and just doesn't load, I was incredibly frustrated.

This is why I feel Shenmue should have a new port version.

why not? i mean, sega are actually quite well known for doing this revival thingee ...so ..it might be possible

It would be great, but highly doubtful.

This should motivate one of you to learn complex programming and port Shenmue to the XBox, lol
