If you were wondering how much Ryo makes on his first day of work (Which happens to be the most he makes there, as the work gets harder and you actually lose money when you get raises), first
Convert the value of the December 1986 Yen to the December 1986 US Dollar with the first site.
Then convert the 1986 US dollar to the 2012 US Dollar using the inflation calculator.... This way it's perfectly accurate.
And now for a hard days work driving a forklift at the Amihama Harbor, Ryo takes home........
$74 dollars (I believe 6000 yen is his highest but I may be off). Not bad, although throughout the week his "raises" combined with less crates carried means he is actually losing money for his hard work not being rewarded.
Just thought it was interesting to see how much money Ryo actually has to our present American standards. At one point he had like 10800 in one of my files which comes out to be about 137 bucks for today.
