I think you should try to take a good photo but it's not exactly an art contest, but should still be presented decently. As Axm said, the most important thing would obviously be what's being photographed, however, that doesn't mean you can't try your best to make it visually appealing.
I don't think we should exclude people in Japan. A good Shenmue inspired picture doesn't have to come from Japan, and wouldn't necessarily be the best if it did.

I mean for those who live in the UK or US the west to post pics when they went to Japan. It should be something local at least within the confines of where you live. State,Country? What is better than to be reminded of Shenmue than on location? Then others have no shot.

To be precise, this
thing is a object we're taking a picture of. Not a location. Although that helps I think we should give merit to the object based on its likeness to Shenmue and it's abilty to be put in the games and seem like a normal thing Ryo would run across or pick up. etc.
Also LW (you mind if I call you LW? *Points fingers*)
If this contest becomes successful lets do another in Christmas too. ;)
Cause thats still ~4 months away.

Shenmue II. Shenmue 1 forum is always used as the general forum for Shenmue. The contest is not limited to one game but the series.

Well I cant make head nor tail of whats going on but I read somthing about a contest music and needing a good camera, can do all 3 so ill get right on it Im gonna use a panasonic MS4 for recoding and oberheim OB12 and FL studio for making the track Tonsa old studio stuff I got from various closed down studio's and a ton of other stuff and win this thing.

Shame there's a no Japan rule because my Japan pictures are the only pictures I have that are even a bit like Shenmue.
