Looks like Huber's up for a potential Gametrailers Shenmue timeline. This would be awesome, and the Dojo should definitely be involved for research purposes.

Guess I gotta drop by Ebay pretty soon, just for one disc...
Also forgot that I had a save file right before the time limit. Popped in disc 2, chose to go to sleep, and Lan Di showed up in the morning.
Totally forgot I had that save.
Dear Mittens2317,
Thank you for your message!
We have received many requests for the original cast to return and understand how important their connection is to the Shenmue community - however, the voice actors are undetermined at this time. Once casting is final, we will let you know through the updates!
We appreciate your valuable suggestions and will pass them on to the development team!
Best regards,
M. Toyoshima &
The Shenmue 3 Kickstarter Team

And the disc isn't messed up because of scratches. It's actually completely scratch-free. There are a couple of weird "dented" spots though... it's really weird, it's like the plastic itself isn't affected, but the shiny part where disc information is actually stored has these two little spots where it looks ever so slightly warped. You can't tell on the printed side, it's just if you hold the bottom of the disc in the right light. I'm thinking that's the problem. I bought this copy of Shenmue a few years ago so I could give my friend's original copy back to him when he finally re-bought a DC, but I guess I never actually tried playing this one.

LOL Well I'm plenty satisfied they locked in the original Japanese VO at least

Nah, it whites out from the main system screen into the first one with the big Sega logo and all the usual "all rights reserved" junk, tries to load for about a minute, then goes back to the system screen. Doesn't even start the game.
