I absolutely pissed my sides. I think k he's serious but being comical. Either way it was hilarious! I recon a good stand up could rip the shit outta Shenmue for 20 minutes, and if done right, it would be funny as hell.
Either way, it does capture the feelings of non Shenmue fans which we don't so often hear.

The only funny part of that vid was the end when he asks when shenmue is coming out. The rest of it is a poor attempt at trying to be stand up comedian like, stick to being a game journalist jeff.

Thanks Zim

It's nice to see that Gio is hearing about Shenmue all the time, even when he is having dinner with his wife lol.

We need to tweet Shenmue and #buildingthelist as much as possible from now on.

Ive lost a ton of respect for Jeff. While there are franchises that I don't like, I wouldn't go out of my way to try and sabotage its chances of making a return.

The people in that audience didnt seem enthusiastic about shenmue at all. Then again, it was the first game anyone started screaming at the sony rep that was answering questions. I wonder how many people actually played it that was in that audience though. A forklift simulator for assholes huh? Shame he thought that, because thats like 1/8th of the game. He obviously thinks there are better games that could come out, yet everyone keeps asking for 'mue and im pretty sure its at the top of their request list. We must win this battle.

The most hilarious part of the video is the thumbnail that Ziming used. MEGA LOL.

Liked that comment:

"I love Shenmue but I also identify that it's not for everybody. Infact, it's probably not even for most people.

Shenmue is a game that had the balls to be boring on purpose. It's about waiting around outside of the barbershop because it's 6am and they aren't open yet. In some ways its reminiscent of a storytelling method Alfred Hitchcock used; Hitchcock subscribed to the notion that you start out very slowly on purpose, because that way the viewer gets to see how mundane the characters really are. Through that mundanity, you relate to them, because life itself is boring.

And Shenmue starts out VERY mundane. And I really, really love that, because it backs it up with a hard-to-match sense of place. Exploring that little sliver of 1985 Japan is super cool to me, and the things that game was trying to do at the time were revolutionary. Every NPC in that game is unique, and they all have daily routines. Games can do that now through character creators and whatnot, but somebody in Shenmue had to paint textures for 25-50+ unique faces and chart out where they were going to be in the city at any given moment.

Of course, in a gaming landscape where everything is still loud, in your face, and convenient to the point of holding your hand, it's easy to see why somebody would hate the game. It's not even that Shenmue is difficult, either, it's just tedious... but it's intentionally tedious. It forces you to stop and smell the flowers. I can dig that. Most people won't."

Glad you guys worked your way over to that topic, I made it over there after this all came about, Giant Bomb is one of my favorite gaming sites. I think that topic turned out very well, for the most part reception on the giant bomb message boards are pretty favorable to the Shenmue franchise.
