It's really tough to choose my favorite moment in the game. There's the motorcycle scene with Nozomi, the seventy man fight with Gui Zhang, beating Chai in the arcade, the last day with Tom at the harbor, finding the Phoenix Mirror, the opening cutscene (gives me chills every time), the ending cutscene (also gives me chills every time)... there are too many to choose!

The Shenmue series as a whole is packed with many of my favorite scenes in gaming. S1 had the I Wish bike ride. Beating up those goons in the park and saving that kid and nozomi . The intro with lan di. Kicking that soccer ball in Charlies face. The heartbeats bar fight. The nozomi picture scene. Saving mark from the mad angels and so on and so forth.

Favourite Shenmue 1 moment is now the ending, where i now know that the next game isnt the last.

I think my favorite moment is when you enter the Dojo basement and discover so much new stuff about your dad. Ryo never knew that secret passage. That was pretty cool. A bit like "national treasure" for Ryo...

I concur with the sentiments about the basement scene. Shenmue started off pretty slow, but things really pick up in Disc 2 - you visit the harbor, meet Master Chen and Gui Zhang, and learn about the Phoenix Mirror - and shortly after, you actually discover it in Iwao's secret basement. This is a significant turning point for Ryo - I remember being pretty thrilled that you actually find the Mirror and aren't sent away on another fetch quest (no 'Thank you Ryo! But the Phoenix Mirror is in another secret basement' type disappointment). At this point in the game, I actually got my hopes up that Disc 3 would take place in Hong Kong.

Other than Disc 2, my favorite moments are within the ending sequence - from Nozomi's phone call to the final scene, it is all perfection. The most notable part to me is Ryo and Gui Zhang figuring things out in the wee hours of the morning after the 70 man battle, and then when Ryo has those few moments to say goodbye to everyone.

The best moment for me as other's have posted is finding the Mirror in the basement. A close second is while training on the forklift's and really annoying Mark.

The arcades, and the random fights. I loved this game a lot, it had a charm not many games have. I could never beat that crazy end guy.
