How to trigger Nozomi's Sakuragaoka Park cutscene?

"I wish time... would just stand still..."

In all these years playing Shenmue, I think I only ever triggered it twice. I'm on my umpteenth play through and I'm scared I've missed it again. What do you have to do to trigger it exactly? Is there a very short window of opportunity to get it?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Yeah, I think I've only seen it a few times too.
I think it has to be after Christmas, because if my memory serves me right, she says something like "can you believe Christmas is already over".

it happens from 26th dec onwards. its on disc 2 or 3 before you begin work. you return home and the phone rings. pick it up and its nozomi, the rest plays out by itself.

you can also speak to eri (same time as above after 26th dec) who stands at the corner of the you arcade at night. she then says nozomi is upset at the sakuragaoka park. go there and the cutscene begins.

Prerequisite event is the date when she calls you at home around 7 pm. This must happen before you get the sword guard.

Then after Christmas you get the event where she's crying after talking to Eri outside arcade after 7 pm.

It's funny I've never gotten this scene. I've obviously seen it many times but never gotten it on my playthru of S1. My first time playing I finished the game on Dec. 25th. And every time after that I'd always finish around the 17th. I played shenmue so many times and I'd always rush. I'd always take my time during S2 though
