Never noticed it worked like that, pretty stupid scheme.

In fairness, why wouldn't you immediately try just hitting the A button without the zoom, knowing you're already locked onto the drawer? Like, even just as a "what if".

Buuuuuuut, I'm not going to get into more about Drawergate because at the end of the day, it's dumb. Not just releasing every other button and pressing A is dumb, and so is complaining about it. That means me too.

I gave up after part three, there was only so much shouting and singing I could cope with, gave me a headache.

It was somewhat amusing to listen to their reactions to the cheesier elements of the game (voice acting, Tom, etc), but for the most part, I just found it loud and idiotic. Their short attention spans and over-reliance on maps got tiring, as well. Can't see myself finishing this series off.

That said, it's probably one of the fairer playthroughs I've watched, and any mockery of the game is pretty reasonable and tongue-in-cheek.

Try to watch parts 10 & 11, they're my favorites. Part 8 has good moments as well.

It's the funnier Shenmue playthrough I watched so far. I showed one of them to my brother and he couldn't stop to laugh (he likes Shenmue too).

The sad part is that they pretty much missed every "secret", they didn't got the carrots, the pit blow, yamagishi move, enoki fight, the schoolgirls fight, ichiro and naoyuki, they probably won't get the mirror scenes and the nozomi ones.

Those little moments that catch you offguard is part of what makes Shenmue different and has kinda been lost in today games.

Long play over Let's play

the only good commentators are developers and TAS'ers explaining WTF is going on

I have a doubt about the fortune teller the GB guys visited during episode 15.

How come she didn't give Ryo any clue on gambling? Is it because they actually never played the Slot Machines?

I think it's just a way to save some dialogue data as Vinny said.

Has someone tested if Ryo can spend his money on toy machines or arcade?

I'm pretty sure you can't spend ANY money during that section of the game until you've got the ticket.

Yeah. It's probably a precaution to stop the game fucking its own story/currency logic, so you can't really blame AM2 for making that move.

The dialogue in the Fortune Teller could have been a bit clearer (and I'm sure more direct statements are given if you try to buy toys/drinks/etc), but complaining about Shenmue's translation being spotty is like complaining water is wet.

The carrots flashback is from Shenmue II. 8)

Actually, it's in both.

Nah, you have to look at the dish on the kitchen table in the first disk.

Also, they got the 2 most important mirror cutscenes, I didn't think they would "find" those.

Trollism at its peak today but can't blame Vinny on that. Time skipping is a must for the eventual remaster. I didn't remember that the ticket part would take so much time.

Yeah, it's not that bad when you go early to the travel agency and can wait the 4 hours in the same day.

But yeah, it's frustrating for sure. Today I thank nulldc for speeding up the game.

I hate those moments when you feel the game is playing you and not the other way around.
