I dont now how or when Shenmue 3 will be released though. Would hoping for a June-July 2018 release be crazy?
Either ways, just gotta wait for E3
But that doesn't make sense; why would they release Shenmue 1 and 2 HD after Shenmue 3 is released.
This is just a hunch, but I reckon Sega is liaising with Yu Suzuki on this right now. The recent article (
http://comicbook.com/gaming/2018/01/13/ ... shed-back/) suggests that Sega is pushing back the release of HD versions until near the release of Shenmue III. If this is taken as truth, it is not improbable that Sega is currently in talks with YSnet regarding the stage of Shenmue III's development so that they can get a more concrete release date. Therefore, in case Shenmue III is delayed again, Sega can also push back Shenmue HD further once more.
It would make sense since it is mutually beneficial for both Sega and YSnet to release Shenmue HD close to the release of Shenmue III. Besides, despite Sega not playing a role in Shenmue III's development, Yu Suzuki has still maintainted contact with them throughout the project, in acquiring the rights to make Shenmue III, the rights to include the Sega arcade games etc. No way has he cut off relations with Sega.
