is this scene actually supposed to happen at some point throught the game. i finished the game and he has the flashback, but the flashback was a first to me, and some how magically after the flashback, the amulet is there. also, does it make any one else mad that it doesnt say "nozomis amulet" in shenmue 2.

I imagine that probably happened when Ryo was on his way home after the 70 man battle, that's the only place it could really fit. What Nozomi was doing out that early in the morning is beyond me :P

Yeah, this scene occured immediately after the 70-man battle, like Miles said. This is, quite frankly, the only way to explain why Ryo doesn't have the amulet in his inventory before the 70-man battle. Think about it. While you can't check the inventory for the rest of the game after that battle, you do in fact have the amulet in Shenmue 2. This logically leads to the conclusion that the scene has to occur the night before Ryo leaves for Hong Kong.

I suppose they did it for effect to show that Nozomi is important to Ryo because she was the one person he thought about immediately before leaving Japan. If they had showed it in it's chronological position, Nozomi would have seemed less important. That's what I think anyway.

No i knew she played a big part of the story I just dont know when!. You cant have introduced a Character like Nozomi and not make her mean anything to Ryo's Journey. I still really dont get that Nozomi memory..

LOL @ the Nozomi/Lan Di theory

Miles: Makes sense, no? I can't really think of another reason other than randomness.
