I have the original Dreamcast controller connected to my PC.
It`s having problems with the triggers (left and right triggers).
I cannot run slowly like when using my xbox one controller.

Also, the timer (10 sec.) does not appear, when assigning the buttons in the controls-config.
I have to press the buttons before I click to assign them! Then it works. Just not for the triggers.

Any solution to this? :-) Thanks.

I don't think your problem is related to Demul, I think it's related to the drivers used to make your Dreamcast controller work on PC. You may need to look for updated drivers for your Dreamcast controller.

Which GD-ROM plugin are you using? and what type of disc image files?

It was a MDS file but I didn't know there was a GDI Shenmue file on the net before.

This is probably the most accurate and glitch-free emulator for Shenmue to date, BUT is requires a fucking monster machine... For reference: I have a i5 4690k @ 4.3ghz, GTX 970, 16GB RAM and I'm still getting occasional frame rate dips in Shenmue 2, accompanied by annoying pitch shifting in the game's audio...

My previous card was a Radeon HD 7970. It wasn't bad. I was doing Shenmue 1 and 2 at 2x resolution and 32 layers and 60 fps.

Bought a GTX 970 recently. It chews through games, and benchmarks 60% higher than the 7970. I can now run Shenmue 1 at 3x resolution and 32 layers now with two passes of FXAA. It's gorgeous.

But II... I went from 2x resolution and 32 layers at 60 fps to what you described: occasional frame drops and that constant, consistent weird pitch shifting. Lowering the settings doesn't seem to fix anything.

Kind of bummed. Not sure if I can justify keeping my old card just for Shenmue II, but it's a relatively awful experience on this GTX 970 (and extra frustrating because Shenmue I runs like a dream).

Demul v0.7 alpha build 200915

- NAOMI 2 emulation has been rewritten almost from scratch, emulation is now very close if not the exactly same as real hardware, a lot of optimisations added, emulation can now use a separate thread (DX11NG)
- Shadow rendering fix (Cosmic Smash)
- Romset sync with current MAME

@masterchan

Using this->Demul v0.7 alpha build 200915 one, game runs almost perfect on my sys. Only the weird sound glitches in cut scenes remain :(
Is there any chance this could get better with future versions of demul? I doubt that my system is the reason for the slowdowns (win7 on ssd, i5 2500k @4ghz, 8Gb ram, 970 GTX 3,5 Gb ram).

32GB of DDR3.

I just noticed there have been a couple of updates since I last posted this. Life has hit me hard with the busies, but hopefully this weekend I can give it another whirl.

Does it crash for someone else in Shenmue II during rainy weather in fullscreen mode with GpuDX11 plug-in?
