First render of the inside of Abe Store...long time since i last found the time to render, so here is a 1080p... Imma try to smooth it up a bit later on.

I still am amazed at the detail of this series.
It's not just the amount of the stuff as atmospheric pieces and stuff on walls etc... It's also little things out of place that seem more real to me. Abe store and other shops with boxes just laying around tissue boxes. Turning off the lights and watching the string cord sway back and forth like real physics would.

I could go on and on but it just draws you in. It's not just new coats of paint with better textures and more of but how they use it.
Heck some things even change and very subtle(flowers in the vase in the shrine for example)

Sorry to ramble but with these mods you guys are doing it sometimes reminds me of some of the reasons I fell in love with the series.

And ever since I made it my desktop, I can't get the damn Abe Store theme out of my head.

Nicely said. Yeah i think Shenmue's magic comes mostly from the details. It's not just that this room is detailed or stuff, it's the sum of all details, some sick perfectionism that is partly so subtle that even now we have not even understood all of it. Stuff we will never notice - like that all 100 different npcs have different footstep sounds and go to diner for different places and times.

The funny thing is that i did not even touch one texture in any of these, the only material i really completely changed was the green glass for the big candy jars in abe store - simply as Vue 6 infinite's transparency model definitely looks better than the 1998 texture based transparency model SEGA had to choose for performance reasons.

Hail to the king, baby: More 1080p awesomeness (OK the store sign textures resolution sucked, buy oh well):

Busy couple of days then, walking around taking pictures of innocent women while they work.

Ryo is too intimidating. He can stand in one spot for hours even if someone is waiting for him to move and they won't say anything..
