Hello there... maybe here I'll find someone who can help me out...
I'm working on Shenmue 2 save editor (for the time being: only for Xbox, as this is my platform).
I already get to the coordinates of ryo, which map is loaded, capsule toys, pawnshop fliers and maps... I'm looking for information about 3 things.

First things first -> I'd love to get save with all scrolls which can be bought (Machine Gun Fist and so on) and acquired by playing pachinko...

The second one is connected with what map is loaded -> maybe someone has a list which folder is what in scene/xx/ directory, I mean:
e.g. Aberdeen -> AKT0
Beta Aberdeen -> MAP0 and so on...
would love to get also information on folders which contains free battles.... This is in a way a little beyond the editor but would be great to help with exploration of not normally accessible areas.

And finally, the third matter: tokens! I know there are tokens for Hang On / Space harrier... yet, I'm way too lame to get even one of them, so would be great to look at the save where this might be stored.

I'm also struggling to get where are stores info for photos... If everything goes as smooth as planned -> you will be able to 'transfer' save from S1 to S2x (by editing the existing S2x save with options from S1).

Full / almost full notebook saves are also desired :)

As you may already figured it out -> Xbox saves would suit me best, yet even dreamcast saves could be enough (but getting info from vmu from nulldc is kinda pain-in-the-a**).

help is really appreciated
as a way of progress:
I've found offsets which are responsible for holding photos and all of the items (medals, duck, chawan signs notes).

I hope that today I'll get to the martial scrolls offsets (and learn progress).

Basically this will mean everything worth trying to get from save (I exclude coordinates stored on maps)

except those damn tokens...
help, anyone?

Have you tried using the Action Replay or Codebreaker for the DC to unlock everything? I remember using it to obtain the complete capsule toy collection, max HKD, every move scroll ect. If i could make an image of my Action Replay, I would, but I dont have all the gear to rip gdis.

I got save from code junkies, and well... it doesn't have tokens either :/ Scrolls, toys, max money: fine, they're there but no tokens :/ Also ActionReplay codes were not present for acquiring tokens.
Is there anyone strong enough to challenge outrun/space harrier/hangon on 1 token? :twisted:

Still no tokens, and it will probably stay that way...
Progress of app:
Done (found offsets of)
    All scrolls and their progress
    All items that can be acquired through the game (except tokens)
    All photos (with 5 more of Ryo & Nozomi from S1)
    All pawnshop fliers
    All maps
    Coordinates on the map
    All capsule toys
    You can unlock Duck race quest: unlock Eileen as fighter, unlock Izumi as fighter (Eileen beaten), unlock the Duck race, unlock own duck
    Everything unlocked in Shenmue Collection (as well as skipping cut-scenes, without finishing the game).
    Cash amount
    Game time save
    Date time save
    Map currently loaded

Use of the save editor (changed coordinates of Ryo).
Gui is almost finished, in 2 weeks I'll probably release it. Couldn't find offsets for tokens. What I found is byte which makes the game think you play cleared file (you can skip cutscenes and see Shenmue saturn video and Shenmue collection should be intact).

Here it is...

Precaution:
- Text editing values (like game time, map, amount of capsule tots ) requires user to press Enter afterwards
- Saving works only when something was changed
- X,Y,Z positions are stored internally in the app
(if you want to change Ryo coordinate on map -> input e.g. +2 / -2 to move Ryo by his "2 steps" in desired direction. Only integers allowed yet one step is rather accurate, as setting Ryo 'in place' when discovering 'ghost town' required setting him 2000 steps below the level of Shenhua's house.... X coordinates East or West, Y height, Z North or East... beware that +/- with X will not work the same all the time as it appears that in save is also stored sense of Ryo's vector).
- 255 is the max amount of each capsule toy to have
- Checking & unchecking tabs in extras may change your save in a way that it cant be restored

Post comments if you're save is not recognized properly (especially in extras tab, as rest shouldn't cause problems).

Good work! Can you acces some "secret" or "beta" or "cutscene" maps with the "map" parameter? Is there a list of valid maps to input here?
Too bad my old Xbox is broken... Looking forward to the dreamcast version.

simply change of map name makes game load the default map stored in MPKxx.PKF/PKS (and therefore these will make the list of 'valid maps')
will have to check some stuff if via save I can somehow load different map than the default (but I am afraid it is not possible)
Dreamcast version? If ever released it will only works with VMS saves (it's build is closer to saves from xbox) and will not support changing coordinates (but maybe someone made a breakthrough with dc cheksums?)

Changes:
    Fixed minor glitches with images
    Fixed error with setting in-game time (it couldn't be set)
    Added offsets to Darts, Excite QTE, QTE Title high & last scores
    Added offsets to Tokens amount
    Added offsets to Street Fighters Levels
    Little changes made to source (some parts of code were refactorized)
