apparently poser converts into 3ds, so all we need to do is convert mt5 to pz2 open with poser then convert to 3ds, il try it out tomorow, if nobody will have done it before me il let you know if it works :D

I hope I am wrong, but I think its highly unlikely this will work. The files have the same .mt5 extension but that necessarily doesn't mean anything. That is most likely a naming convention that they used when developing the game, but perhaps I am wrong. I have not compared the structure of each file.

My friend opened an mt5 converting it into OBJ but he says the model appears with random polys.
Waiting his opinion about the convertion.

Shenmue 1 have some hidden model and in my opinion, they have to be "unlocked". It would be bad if we forget them.

If this method fails, I'll try to rip them using 8 captures from different angles.

i see what you mean, well i found this on a daz 3d forum, it was some guy explaining how to get mt5 files on daz by going through the poser process, i agree that it is a bit unlikely but its a possibility worth looking into imo

Ok, forget about that PZ2 files/convertion.

It is not the same. Dotsona was right (Argh! )

My friend sent me info about it.
I'll use a translator because it's all in Spanish.

It's not the same, also uses the Poser files MT5, but they are 3D models of properties, such as clothing, hair, shoes, objects, etc. to be put 3D models for Poser people, in fact they are almost MT5. OBJ, which also include properties of morph for a jacket, for example, can move with the body of the model that has been position, but they have nothing to do with the MT5 of the Dreamcast.

The PZ2 are Poser scenes.

Anyway, I have to read me some stuff, I've found a source in C that opens the MT5, perhaps we can make a program that will export to another format, I think I have a library for generating. OBJ and .3 Ds from C

I commented to him about Yagzoo extractor. Maybe he will be able to finish it. Who knows ](*,)

Also you might want to download the latest build from the github page, I think its on there. I have talked to yazgoo, hes ok with sharing the source.

I just found out today that Yazgoo just started work on a new version of the extractor, you can get the latest build here. http://abdessel.iiens.net/dreamcast/mt5/

Not sure if the process of setting it up is the same, I have not tested it yet. But it is exciting news!

As I see, the extractor can make almost perfect rips from model heads. That's nice!
