I captured these at actual 4K resolution with nullDC. I made them just to show how much detail is still hidden in the games. I don't have a 4K display and haven't seen the videos run on one. So I don't even know their true scope LOL.

I'll be sure to play them on the TV later and report back.

Wow! Those 4k youtube vids look mad. Not to mention that that is with youtubes compression. Bluemue, what is your pc spec? Going to replay 1 and 2 starting next week, I got my Dreamcast plugged in via vga but this looks something else lol

I have an i7 2600K running at 4.4 GHz, 16GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 970. The GPU is doing most of the work here with the internal encoder wich allows to record up to 2160p60 with virtually no performance drop via ShadowPlay.

I plan to do more of these videos but not every scene is that usable. Some are just too glitchy. I had the Guilin arrival in 4K on my channel a while ago but the water surface was just too glitchy and it had a very nasty encoding glitch in the middle wich I didn't saw before I uploaded it.

Cheers for the reply. I got a similar setup so I'll have a good with this next week and see what I can get out of it. I've read that Demul is better for the graphical glitches, have you tried that?

Demul has less glitches, especially in the shadows, but it has no option for true widescreen.

Can you still play in 4:3 with a 4k rendering resolution, just add the values for the dead space? I love the look of it, but the constant texture pops would get pretty gross for long playthroughs.

You can set nullDC to 4:3 only and still go fullscreen and full resolution.

Demul can go even higher in resolution overall with 6x internal resolution. It will run the 4:3 image at 3840x2880 beating nullDCs 4K 4:3 by quite a bit then. This is however extremly demanding on the hardware.

Back to a lot of talking to people. Sawano-san easily has my favorite response. :D

Gotta love how much extra dialogue you can get out of the move instructions. This one even has a longer alternate scene after learing it when you've failed for a while. I actually like that more then the regular one.

It's just so impressive how much instruction there is for just a relatively simple technique.

There is an endian variable you can change to have Shenmue 2 display in true widescreen. This should affect DEMUL to display it in 16:9 :)
