I got it running, however I don't seem to have any subtitles at all during speech, but other text (like the item name when I pick items up) is translated. Any ideas?

You need to activate the subtitles in the options. The game is set to "Shenmue Mode" on default wich only displays subtitles when you skip dialogue.

I was playing Disc 2 of Kogami's 1.0 rip via my GDEMU on the Dreamcast. The game stalls on most cutscenes or transactions, like trying to get on the bus.

Disc 1 didn't have the problem. Haven't tried disc 3 yet. Just thought I'd report it.

I would love to play the 90 min undub, but the GDROM USB adapter doesn't support .mdf. I've been trying really hard to convert to .cdi, a supported format, but I can't get it to work properly. Anyone have any ideas?

Edit: Oh, it looks like there was a GDI put together? Is that still on Mega? The USB adapter is region free so I'd love to get those files

I'm having the same problem as Adam above. Disc 1 went fine, but disc 2 always freezes after the dream sequence.
I've tried re-burning, changing the DAO/SAO settings. all discs freeze at the same part.

cdr-80 version. Someone please help! I'm so into the game right now and I can't wait to continue! I absolutely love the Japanese dialogue..

I'm having the same problem as Adam above. Disc 1 went fine, but disc 2 always freezes after the dream sequence.

You can use sm1th's undub ver or PAL CD2 to bypass the freeze.
Load your save, sleep & watch the cutscene.
Save & reload kogami undub to continue.

UPDATE:
Just cleared Shenmue from start to finish. Only CD2 has problems, the rest is fine.

Hi guys I'm really frustrated trying to get this to work.....I have burnt DC games in the past and they have all worked fine as CDI's. I can't get this MDF file type to work at all even following the instructions. All the disc does is sound like it's spinning mega fast inside the dreamcast?! I have a legit pal shenmue 1 on DC and shenmue 2 on xbox but I wanted shenmue 1 undub and shenmue 2 on DC so I can carry my save file over, I just don't know how to get this MDF file type to work :/

Can someone help me out as I'm sooooo frustrated! I was planning an authentic shenmue 1 and 2 playthrough both in japanese and to upload the footage to my youtube page as a shenmue tribute :( Now looks like I'll have to just play my original shenmues in english......Hate this mdf file extension! CDI is sooo easier and works fine!

I just tried burning disk 1 of PAL Shenmue(Disk1).CDI on a -

CD-R80 700mb 80minute
10x speed
raw dao

It didn't work....I used to use this speed , disk type, and setting for all my DC games back in 2010? I have no clue why I can't get the CDI's to work let alone the MDF's?!

Somebody help out AngryShenmueFan as I have no patience after staying up all night trying to get this right....failing at all attempts :/

Right 10x speed is my slowest, I managed to get a CD-R80 and a CD-R99 BOTH have he dreamcast logo come up, then the SEGA logo then it goes to a black screen with 'NOW LOADING...' at the bottom.......Then it freezes forever :/ This sucks!!! Someone help me out!

i burnt disk 1 on a old 700mb cd i found in the backroom, used Alcohol and followed the OP screenshots and it worked first time.

however, now im playing it on DEMUL and i seem to freeze when entering the old warehouse disctrict for the first time, its not like it freezes though, time still moves, Ryo still breathes, but im unable to move.
