Hi everyone,

I have created the initiative to video record as many hacking procedures for Shenmue 1 and 2, both DC and XBOX as I can.

So far I've recorded the following:
How to swap player model in Shenmue 1
How to perform a code search to create your own Action Replay / NullDC Cheater codes
How to swap entire maps
How to swap NPCs
How to do the forklift mod


As of right now, I have only uploaded episode 1 as a test:

It seems youtube is going to be here for a long time, so its a great and free place to document.

Its worth posting information on files and how to manipulate them for future reference
It is cool, its just a little bit late, I would much rather see Shenmue being recreated in a NEW games engine, knowing as much as possible about shenmue file formats will help when this time comes
I'd love to find animation data would make things easier than reanimating his fighting moves (His terminator walk does needs changing)
Dont be discouraged Shenmue will rise from the ashes

Shengoro, what I can say is, since I'm not particularly interested in modding, the devotion shown on this forum is somehow inspiring, and, in this case, if you resume displaying it, be it through mods or this tutorial, it already serves, if anything, that loyal purpose. Keep it up.

Hmmm. Starting to think about an hyperthread with mods done and sticky

Many thanks, I was looking for a way to appreciate more the Shenmue charadesign and hacking of this kind appeared to be the best solution, i'll will definitively try it.

I made a thread in the website forum but nobody responded so I started making my own knowledgebase for Teamyu.net.

I also want to document all of these hacking procedures since a lot of it is being forgotten (even some of our vets admitted to forgetting stuff lol).

A hyperthread would be nice. I'm still in touch with some of the veteran shenmue modders and I am currently working with some of them to dig up older information on how to do things manually. A lot of the manual stuff is now automated but its good to have that info anyway.

We are lucky to have you in the community you have done some incredible things with the games that I would of never thought possible.

However, I didn't come up with these procedures. I'm just documenting other people's work, who I have credited accordingly!
