I was recording the nightfalls of Shenmue from my Dreamcast for a similar project just yesterday.
Well I guess mine will be a bit different. Split up between the games, native resolution and whatnot.
Did you record the Shenmue II footage from a 360? It looks too sharp and clean without bloom for Xbox.

Yep, Shenmue II was recorded on Xbox 360 to get a better quality.

Nice video! Those nightfall transitions scenes from Shenmue are so romantic/nostalgic.

(Question: Does Guilin has nightfall transition scenes too?)

It's a good thing that the 360 outputs the image at 720p natively and get's rid of the blur. But also of the bloom and any shadows whatsoever, wich kinda outweighs the benefit of the increased sharpness. I'll record from the original Xbox, so both of our videos will have unique traits.

Guilin doesn't have any nightfall scenes, not in the traditional way. You can't stay in Langhuishan long enough and on the way to Bailu Village and at Shenhua's house you'll just get story cutscenes (reached the crag, dinner is ready).
