Can you find Something really interesting inside Project Berkley Demo Disk Please

What's the project berkley demo disc? Please illiterate...

The Project Berkley "demo" this was just a demo disc with a video on it of a very early Shenmue

I doubt there is much else on it besides the video
On the What's Shenmue Disc there are a couple of music tracks that aren't used in Shenmue 1 or 2 though...

That's what i'd like to know ...!

Please, does someone want to take a look at PB disk ?

Shenmue 1 NTSC US, Shenmue 1 Japanese, Shenmue 2 Limited edition Japanese (doesnt know if that is any different from regular Shenmue 2 japanese), Shenmue 2 PAL, Shenmue 2 Japanese. I have not completely finished downloading all these but when I do I will let you guys know... hopefully soon

uh where did you download the Japanese Shenmue 1? And if you find a PAL ver of Shenmue 1 also, I'd like to download that... then I can create Shenmue 1 with Japanese voices and English dubs
:)

That would be great if you could pull it off Marcel ^_^

great work miles and co. this stuff is amazing!!

just a thought, this would look hilarious:

in shenmue 1, would it be possible to replace Lan di with that santa character (i think his name's santa myo or something like that) in the first cut scene so it looks like santa is killing iwao!!

another thing, probably a stupid question but can you only do this switching etc if you have the xbox ver. and not the dc ver.?

The Santa swap would be hilarious, and you could even swap him with Ryo's model (this is possible in Shenmue I). Kung-Fu Santa!

I'll add it to the list of things to do if I ever get Shenmue I on CD-R.

You could probably do all this with Shenmue II DC, but you'd have to work with burning discs over and over and stuff like that. Xbox is much easier because of the HDD.

I was thinking, to go further with Shenmue discoveries, switch and so on, we must have a MT5 / MT7 viewer.

Of course, only the AM2 team have such tools, but we do know for sure that Shenmue uses the katana library, so we do know how the executable file has been compiled.
But converting the Shenmue 1/2 executable to asm language would be much more difficult than trying to convert the What's Shenmue executable. As it is a demo with not all features on, the executable file must be much smaller. The thing i can't figure out is how to test it on real hardware, to recompil it for the dc.

We could ask for some usefull dc hardware information to the dc emu author on boob, he might help us understanding what the asm code really does on each registers.

I just registered to tell you all that I have a CD-R copy of Shenmue II PAL. last night i found all the model files and the human files, but some things are different from the Xbox version. the character 'KYG' in Shenmue 2x doesn't exist in the DC version so I had to replace a character with the lady that plays the music for you alongside of her husband. I'm trying to switch that model with Ziming's model 'KSM'. but I don't know if it's either his adult model or the kid model you see in the flashback. I'm thinking that it's his kid model. After I'm done switching it, I'm gonna burn a whole Disc 1 to see if it worked. Then I'll buy a VGA box and make a screen capture. But does anybody here know how input the modified AFS file back into the disk without burning a whole NEW one? I also want to know if there's a program to view the MT7 files. And can that guy (forgot your name, sorry) give more info about that PVR converter? I wanna make this work.

You can't burn only one file to replace another in a CD-R disc.
This is obvious, but anyway: you can't rewrite CDRs.

Yea I know that, but what I'm tryin to say is that is there a program that can unlock a CD-R so I can replace a file rather than burning a whole new Disc 1 to see if the swap worked. Also, Strat, I downloaded your NPC swap program. Will it work for the DC Shenmue II, because when I try to put the HUMANS.AFS file back together, the files that were extracted from it are still there. Are they supposed to dissapear or not?

The Ziming model is the child charactor.

You can't rewrite data to a CD-R. It's physically impossible. I can only recomend doing the CD-RW mod for your dreamcast if you plan on trying to do this.

The repack works even though the original files remain (I'm glad they do, saves a lot of time)
