Any news concerning a japanese release of shenmue 2 x?

It's been months since any news surfaced. Is this game still being released in Japan?

I don't think it is, they re-released Shenmue II DC instead.
The X-BOX does very poorly in Japan, even the PSone and the Wonderswan outsell it! =P

Sometimes I don´t understand the japanese, they even got US Shenmue - A DC Version that features English voices and English/japanese Text (switchable during game)...

It was in high demand so the Sega factories processed a couple of thousand of Shenmue II games for the DC. It'll sell better being that Xbox isn't as popular as it is in the states.

The Japanese have proven time and time again that they are highly xenophobic gamers and are too deeply set in their ways and highly resistant to trying new gaming genres. This trend is changing somewhat, based on some media accounts, however. There hasn't really been an American made system that sold well over there. To the japanese, if it isn't made by Sony or Nintendo, then it's not worth playing.

I suppose I may be the same way as I find most anime and Japanese RPG's to be overrated and silly.

Good to see you around. Sega's execs a long time ago said they would publish Shenmue 2, but that's now up in the air since the Xbox isn't too hot in Japan. But that could change if MS buys Sega.
