I now have more pictures of Shenhua's birth area in a dark cloudy setting! Check it out, even the lights come on.

Awesome.

One really has to wonder what they were planning...obviously a lot of work was put into making that place...wonder why it was scrapped...or put on hold at least.

*grabs head* I don't know how many times I have to explain this to people, lol. The area is not scrapped. It is seen in Shenhua's birth scene where her parents are naming her. I am just walking around inside.

The interesting thing about it though is that it's very detailed to only be breifly seen (in a sepia like colored) cutscene. This area was obviously designed to be more. I think we will come to this place in the future. I mean, it even has the slightest detail as the blue on the wall. Look at the 6th picture from the bottom. Doesn't that remind you of the Lan Di/Shenhua scene from Project Berkley?

Yes it does. I guess we will find out more from Shen Hua's past , as a child perhaps or something to do with her "powers" if you want to call them that.

But if the house is from the time she was born, then its not actually possible for it to actually walk around in, so it wont be in Shenmue 3 in this concept ( i know you can walk about LanDC with modding)

Shen Hua's past is seemingly becoming as important as Ryo's. God roll on Shenmue 3. Theres no way the series is canned!

Well, yeah...that's sorta what I meant...It seems like they must have had a lot more intended for this place than just that one scene. If not, that's a rediculous amount of detail for a 2 minute clip, lol.

Yeah, great pictures!! Thanks for sharing them, LanDC!
I like the lights, they're so lovely... :D

It's quite possible we'll visit this place later in the sequel. But, one thing keep bothering me
is Shenhua's parents' outfit in the flashback. It looks so classic that I can't help suspecting
they belong to some older age. Is it because people in Bailu village live in the classic style?
Or, could Shenmue involve some kind of time-traveling? :?

Well that could be possible and I said that mabye the time difference would make the place look older and decrepid. I still think that this is the place in Ryo's time.

Too many differences Jeff.

With the power of the mirrors maybe. That would be an interesting plot twist. :?

An incredibly lame plot twist. I can deal with a bit of mysticism and magic here and there, but time travel is taking it a bit too far...On the other hand, if any one could do it right, it would be Yu Suzuki.

In the game it does say that the two mirrors together would re-open the Chin Dinasty or something like that, that is possible.

No time travel could change the structure of a building.
The two bldgs are totally different!

Master Chen said that the two mirrors would resurrect Chi You in this world.

Those pics make you wonder if Xiuying and Ziming originally grew up in the Guilin area judging from the archetecture...
