As of today, this promotional copy of Shenmue II is now in my possession. I've got the contents of disc 4 ripping to my computer as I type this. I'll be sure to let everyone know if anything interesting turns up from these discs. But please note: In the doubtful event that I find anything interesting, I'll die two deaths, then hopefully be reincarnated so that I can report what I found about 10-15 years from now. ;)

It's great to know you've finally come to possess those rare discs, LanDC. :D
I hope you hit some treasure for the sake of the whole Shenmue fanbase.
Good luck!

That's great Lan, I know it's unlikely but I hope you find some goodies :P
One question; how come it labels the fourth disc as the "Passport" disc? :?

Damnit! I come with unfortunate news... There's nothing left in. I only checked disc 4 so far (it takes over 10 hours to rip one disc), but I'm sure the rest of them will be the same.

Urr, I just want to go to Bailu Village. In Shenmue II, the majority of the files appear to have been saved in July (mostly July 18th) of 2001. It seems at that time, they pretty much had everything fully developed. If I could only manage to get ahold of a playable version created before July of 2001.... I wonder what kind of stealth suit I'd need, or how much money I'd need to pull that off. If anyone out there is a pro thief and thinks they can break into all of AM2's private files and possibly find a beta, contact me and we'll work out a deal. ;)

I was wondering that myself.

Ahh... no treasure after all? Sorry about that, LanDC!

I was wondering that myself.

That merely shows that they're disorganized, I guess. Could there be a slight possibility
that they had removed the passport feature at the last minute, though? :?
