Here's one I just discovered...

While you're airing out books at Man Mo Temple, go to Godhead Fortunetellers and have your fortune told. He'll tell you that Zhu's footsteps are in the "old city" (Wise Men's Qtr.) and that you should go to Wise Men's Kung Fu. But, instead of going there, waste time during the day and don't gather any new information.
The next morning, when Ryo goes to air out the books, you'll get a cutscene with Fangmei I've never seen before. She'll be sweeping and forget her dust pan, and then bump into Ryo from around the corner. Ryo catches her broom and apologizes, then he askes about Yuanda Zhu. Fangmei says she remembered seeing the name on a book called Wulinshu in the temple library. Pretty cool alternate way to get the info.

P.S. It's not necessary to visit fortuneteller, simply don't gather any new information.

Not sure if this is known or not but I gone to a fortune teller the other day (Green Market qr.) and she said me that one of my friends will become an enemy.

Anybody knows something about that?

Hmm. Never heard of that before. Trying to think of a point in the game where that could make sense, but it's been way too long.

EDIT: Oh, wait. Actually it's obvious that the fortuneteller must have meant Naoyuki. Ryo never paid the motorcycles fuel after having rescue Nozomi. He'll hunt Ryo until Thailand.

Ren would seem a good choice but I dont think he would do that. I like to compare him to Vegeta from DBZ, he may be an A$$#ole but he is a bro nonetheless.

Indeed, Ryo would never fall for that as he doesn't seem to be too interested in getting relationships atm. Fuku-san told Ine-san and Nozomi about the trip to Hong Kong so maybe he'll do it again and tell the Chiyoumen about the second mirror because he is a victim of niao sun's seductiveness... BAM!

I thought about this fortune telling for a while now and it's rather strange. There is no one in Shenmue II that fits that reading. Nobody that is a friend switches sides and goes against Ryo. Maybe it's a translation error and it should be the other way around?

At what point in the game did you get that reading, Fenix?

Green Market in Wan Chai. I think I was doing the library working at Man Mo's so it's before the 4 wudes.

I'm actually going for a perfect save in Shenmue II on these days so I got that info recently.

there is an interview with yu suzuki in which he explains yuanda zhu is a character that simply wants to protect his friends. he's not honest, is what suzuki said

Ren? They sort of grow to like one another but end of the say he would pick the treasure over anyone.

That would yet again imply that the reading goes beyond the events of Shenmue II.
I doubt that but that's just how I see it.
