That's perfectly understandable. Is it one of the worst offenders as far as bad VA goes in your book?

In this game? No i would probably have to give that to Wong. For a character that shows up a lot they really picked a crap VA for him.

But even then i would say either Mark, Dulin the Kowloon worker or the Wang brothers are the worst VA in the shenmue series.[not including random NPC's].
Im not picking those characters from II over wong because you dont have to speak to them if you dont want to[outside of the time you have to work in Dulins case]

As for worst in any game? Im not sure who i would say wins no.1 for that award.

Dulin I put the game on mute and go do other stuff while the time passes when your required to work with him.

Yeah its bad but as i said you only need to spend time with him once while you talk to Wong a lot.

As bad as Shenmue VA is it's far far far far from the worst. Grandia is amazingly awful but still not the worst. The worst is always old CD rom games that were usually RPGs or just plain Japanese games with Engrish.

I'm planning to play Shenmue II on next week, and I wonder what else I missed?
I already know everything from first page, and... +
- Where fortune teller girl fall in love with Ryo :oops:

- Extra cutscene with Wong when you gathering 500$
- Joy's conversations at Arcade and Fortune's pier.
- Planes and jets flying over Wan Chai.
- Saying goodbye to woman with child you met at beginning of the game.
- Depended on if you ask about Bell or Yuan in Kowloon, you can skip Moon Child Bld. and go through Knife shop.
- Hidden Hang-On Arcade
- Cutscene with Shenhua when you taking too much time to get to Guilin
- Differences from JP version:
Yuan voice
Najimu Hassan design
Cutscene at Thousand White Convent

Am I missing something elese?

No I didn't beat him, but I knew about that, it happens on rainy days if I remember correctly..

Good times, Ren Dan (was that his name?). I just remember getting upset on my first time through the game when almost all of my prize money was taken by Joy to pay for the COGH. I must've been in there way longer than I thought. :lol:

Joy takes the money that Ryo owes to Ren Dan? When is that supposed to happen. I usually don't pay him nowadays and I never noticed any money was gone missing and there definately wasn't a scene for that. :shock:

By the way, I advice you to add the following to your list. It's a criminally overlooked and highly entertaining scene:

Fangmei says she remembered seeing the name on a book called Wulinshu in the temple library. Pretty cool alternate way to get the info.

Even being a decade ago, I remember Joy telling to Ryo that he must give her the money for the hotel owner. If I remember well, that happens when Ryo have earned a lot of money from the 3 big street fights. Ryo even make a notebook record of that, specifying how much money he gave to Joy for the hotel.

This is weird... Why can't I remember that. There definately is a notebook entry about it, looked up the guide and found: "No debt at Come Over Guest House"
I guess you actually have to go meet her at Cafe Anna or in the Dimsum Qr. to trigger the conversation?
