That is quite amazing. YOU should write a FAQ on some techniques since you must play the game for a while to have mastered free combat like that.

actually I was going to do something like that a long time ago for Shenmue dojo but it would eat up far too much of my time to cover everything... haha

Why not just do it gradually over a period of time.

No offense, but I don't find the fighting videos that amazing. It seems that some people don't know that by repeatedly tapping Y, you will pretty much never get hit. Now if you had to time all those counter attacks and such yourself, THAT would be impressive.

Although I did like watching the videos, haha. Makes me wanna play, I'm thinking of watching the movie that came with S2 so I don't have to play it through. For some reason, I'm in the mood for Shenmue 2 but not Shenmue 1, even though I like Shenmue 1 better.

actually for quite a few of the moves timing is required because they won't happen correctly if not done the exact moment your opponent is attacking.

it is a little more lenient than VF4/5 but it still takes time to learn to string together all those move commands... but if the fighting engine had all the features of a VF game... it would become a pain in the ass to fight multiple opponents at an AI level I would prefer it to be on

The hardest battle in Shenmue 2 (which is the battle engine I prefer) are the 3 mongolian wrestlers all at once... but thats just dodgeing all of their attempts to pin you.
