Lan di's bodyguard

why didn't they let ryo fight lan di's bodyguard? he was the one who held ryo back when iwao was killed. he appears twice in shenmue 2 but you never get to fight him. i wonder why?

Lan Di's bodyguard had a British accent, that means Lan Di is not in the cave at all, but he is in fact in Britain.

Lan Di's "bodyguards" are actually just henchmen that do his bidding. I doubt he needs them for protection. And the one that hold's Ryo back, I believe appears in Wan Chai during the Zhang chase scene with the Yellowheads (He get's his ass beat down by Xiuying so I doubt he's that strong).

As someone has already said, the men in black suit's are just Lan Di's Henchmen, he knows he can take anyone without worrying, they just sort of help him out and ensure the job get's done.

It would be good for Ryo to get revenge on everyone that was involved in his fathers death. Hopefully if there is EVER a Shenmue 3 made, Ryo could take everyone out that was involved in his fathers murder.

Lan Di's main henchman, the guy with the sunglasses, is actually quite weak and is doubtful Ryo would break a sweat fighting him... why? Because he get's his butt kicked by Ren on the rooftop scene, and Ren is kind of a crappy fighter compared to Ryo.
