I've lurked these forums since like 2005 but couldn't remember my forum name :(. Anyway I was recently playing through Shenmue II again and realized what the mirrors as a "treasure map" lead to. Putting the Phoenix mirror over the candle light revealed 7 locations of "treasure" but were not accurate without being combined with the second mirror. Once Ryo or whoever ends up getting both mirrors combines them the seven points will all lead to one dragon ball each. Once they are collected they will summon the Chi Yu dragon of lore prophesied by the people of Louyang. This dragon is really Shenron who will grant the user one wish( Remember now these are earth dragon balls not Namekian balls.) Either Ryo will wish for the destruction of Lan Di and avenge his father, or Lan Di will wish for something that ends up destroying the world as we know it as master Chen told Ryo in Shenmue I.

Prepare to get ass raped by some people here. But I actually found that pretty funny. In fact when I was playing Shenmue I couldnt help but think it might go down the Dragonball route. Now I dont mean nearly as far fetched but maybe some magic attacks resembling a kamehameha wave.

Well actually, the series ends in the US in Lan Di's headquarters where he fuses the mirrors and it triggers the PEPCON explosions of 1988...

I think its cool to speculate at least as to the correlation of the mirrors. I personally don't want the series to lean towards outright bizarre fantasy. It seems like a delicate area regarding what the mirrors will do. If it gets too fantastical it will be difficult to stick to the martial arts roots-in which case it will undermine the many amazing techniques that Ryo has taken time to learn in his travels. I'm actually most curious about those mirrors. I may take a trip to visit Suzuki in Japan and get a peak at the storyboard he wrote.
