Saying Goodbyes in Hong Kong

Hi guys,

I have just finished a 22 hour run in Shenmue 2X on 360 emu.
I'm only up to the part where Ryo is leaving Hong Kong for Kowloon.
I was working on a small mod.

I've said my goodbyes but honestly I think some of them could have been more sincere.

The goodbye that made me a little upset was when you say goodbye to Izumi in the Tomato Convience Store in Golden Quater. Ryo basically just walks in and says Izumi. She seems happy to see him and even asks for him to hang out, but Ryo just says sorry I'm leaving Hong Kong. Bye...

I did not do the duck races. I don't remember but do you get more dialogue if you spend more time with her?

I was also surprised to see that Ryo doesn't mention him leaving to Eileen.

Who do you guys like saying good bye to?
I usually stop and say goodbye to
-Wong (forced)
-Eileen
-Izumi
-Delin
-Delin's Boss
-Master Zhoushan
-Master Zhoushan's exiled student (forgot name during writing)
-Xaiomei
-Xaiomei's Mother
-Zhangyu
-Jianmin
-The old woman from the Yan Tin Apartments (holy crap I can't remember her name)

Guixiang. And same as you. Except I also say goodbye to both Zhoushan's guards.

I thought this was a really creepy topic until I suddenly remembered you actually go and say goodbye to people.

Say goodbye to everyone you have had a story related conversation with.

Ryo still acts like a dick to Izumi even if you win the Duck race and Its a little odd that no goodbye is said to Eileen but she was a bit of a bitch towards him most the time.

Yeah, I thought Ryo would have connected more with her given she's Japanese, in Hong Kong, and about the same age. She is a good connection to have.

He's probably still pissed off about that goddamn whore-cheating super power finishing move Izumi pulls on you... And like WRC says, Eileen's a bitch anyway. Possibly the most unlikeable character in the games.

OMG It took me 3 years to beat Izumi, I know what you mean.
Yeah Eileen is kind of mean but I'm sure shes better when she knows someone.
Here in NJ, that kind of attitude is quite common actually.

Interesting enough that Eileen is good friend's with Fangmei, which would lead me to believe that Eileen is actually a deep down nice character. I don't think Fangmei would have taught her Chinese if she wasn't.

Never had issues with her on the DC but the XBox version? Fucking bitch is a special move troll.

It's funny how dodge/kick/punch are the only moves guaranteed to move. Y'know, coz of how shit it works with the D-Pad. I remember the countless number of times I tried to move around an opponent, only for Ryo to shift towards them and hit their fists with his face.

The moves would be so much easier and better if SEGA kept the Genesis D pad on DC. The best D pad ever made.

Any other perverts imagine the "good bye, Hong Kong" time is Ryo's hit list?

I revisited Joy about 5 times thinking that I had to do something to trigger a new conversation. Needless to say, it was unyielding.

It was a while ago since I played and did the duck races but if I remember correctly it's just some dialogue before and after the duck races.

Concerning the goodbyes. I think I tried to talk to the blind musician. Again, if I remember right. It's been a while since I played the game.
