How long does it take you to beat Dou Niu?

Using Dragon spin repeatedly I can do it just under a minute.

I didn't even know that move existed
It took a couple of tries for me to beat em actually. Sometimes it involved running around and doing a tornado kick

Whilst I commend your achievements Ziming I much prefer the slower method with the QTE. Seems more badass

Don't know the actual time , but i failed the qte's some times because of shitty xbox controller...
still i am curious... did you sub the game sequence urself or what kind of version of shen mue 2 is this?^^

Hours. Yes I said hours yes I suck. Beating him up was not a big deal it's just that my slowed reaction times from thyroid I could not get the damn QTE or I got one but then messed up on the second. Then in 2011 fully played it again for the first time since 2003 and got him in a few minutes and got the QTE but only because I had it written down. You could say before the fight I had a Rocky montage with cheesy music as I practiced the QTE.

Yeah, damn Xbox D-Pad.
I'd say the average once I got the hang of it was 5-10 minutes. First time I tried I failed about 30 times and then gave up and started the game over.
Then I got it during the new play through.
It was kind of my first rage quit. I was only 12 I guess it was. Now its funny how easy that is and the stuff I have done in games thats so much harder since then. But I curse a lot now when a game is making me mad.

I can beat him pretty easily, except for the QTE. I am terrible at that part and thus it takes me forever to beat him. haha

I always hated the Freeze-QTEs, coz I never understood whether you pressed the buttons as the appeared, or once the sequence was finished.

Some you could do after they have appeared but others you had to do them as soon as they showed up or you would fail. Examples of that would be the last QTE in this fight and jumping the 2nd set of rocks with Shenhua.
The problem with that is it made it hard to see what you was supposed to press next.

Exactly, because every time you pressed a button, it's corresponding on-screen button would be highlighted. It's definitely something that wasn't worked on very well. The sequences themselves made sense, and I liked the idea, but they were just implemented too poorly.

I can say with all certainty that that Dou Niu fight QTE is my least favorite part of the wholes series, I dread it. And I wondered the same thing Mitts, I swear I got it right a good many times and it still rejected it. Too slow? Too fast? Knowing the sequence and doing it before its done showing you what to press can go against you, it rejected me before for doing that.
And like that video shows you really don't have to do the QTE if you kick his ass so quickly?

No, as soon as you beat him the cut-scene/QTE sequence activates.

At least then if you don't get the QTE right it only took you a minute and will only take another minute at the next try.
Oh I did just think of other QTE's I never really got right, fighting Izumi the Tomato store clerk, I never beat her mostly because I had such a hard time with her QTEs.
