Shenmue Dojo

Without Shenmue III confirmed, I never beat the last disc or so of Shenmue II, so I knew I'd always have more new Shenmue to come back to. I know a few other people on GameFAQs did this too, and I'm guessing there are even more over here who did the same!

So who's gonna be completing Shenmue II for the first time ever? Who's just now diving into the game at all? Maybe we could all play it around the same time for some good discussion!

With all the news, the complete notebook walkthrough has been delayed. It's been completed to 100%, it's just it's over 10,000 words of a guide and I recon I have about 60,000 locked in. Hopefully I will have it finished ASAP.

My god... No idea how there're people who could hold themselves from beating Shenmue 2. The cliffhanger alone is what kept me coming back for the game after all those long years!

So for the people out there who still never experienced Shenmue...

I've played Shenmue II twice, I imported it from Japan when it was first released and played through the entire thing entirely in Japanese...I don't speak a word of the language. I then got the PAL version and played through that as well.

I have the XBOX release of Shenmue II I have been meaning to play for the first time after I replay Shenmue I. Does anybody have any experience with the XBOX version of Shenmue II? I was gonna play it on my 360.

The only thing about playing it on the 360 is the d-pad is so imprecise, it makes some of the minigames and QTEs extremely difficult. In particular, moving boxes becomes an excercise in frustration. Delin really likes it when you work as a team. He can get quite snippy when you aren't working like a team.

Thats not the D-Pad though. Thats down to emulation issues with the 360 trying to run the Xbox Original disc.

That explains why it always felt harder than it should have been!

Most of my recent Shenmue II experience was playing it on Xbox 360, and that mini-game drove me nuts!
