Since I have one of those turbo controllers laying around here again...

I managed to clear the $100 bet on a few opponents on the DC version but struggle to get anywhere close on the Xbox version. The Duke, Controller-S, and the 360 controller all have overly convex buttons, whereas the DC pads have much flatter buttons which I think allows me to press 'A' faster.

Oh god I'm so bad at arm wrestling. In real life and shenmue! The idea of getting up to the 100 bet is crazy to me.

The music that plays when you arm wrestle is the main theme of Shenmue 2 right?

I used to be okay at it (like others said, sometimes I could beat the $50), but lately, I can't manage it AT ALL. Like, it starts, and my hand gets slammed into the ground. I don't know if I'm pushing the button too early and it's an auto-loss, or if I'm pushing it too late and there's no grace period about it starts, or what!

The funniest thing is that the prize for beating any of these guys at the 100$ bet is that you never can bet with them again.

I'm currently playing through Shenmue II on DC again for the first time in over a decade. I'm finding that I completely suck at arm wrestling and darts now. Struggling with $60 bets in arm wrestling now, whereas before I could clear $100. Getting old, man...

I really want to know from Suzuki why arm wrestling is so significant in the sequel. I believe it is to express strength and the newcomers in China to prove who is the strongest, Ryo, a martial artist proves just that.

With arm wrestling I like to go metal gear style and use a coin to mash the button. It makes it eaiser to press it faster.
